My Story

Humble Abode is better fragrance. Launched in  2024 originally as a line of home fragrances, the intent from the start was to make fragrance lovable again.

 

I believe fragrance should feel joyful — not complicated. But after decades of companies indiscriminately adding chemicals to fragrance to make them stronger, last longer, and cheaper to make, our bodies took a toll. Headaches, fertility issues, skin and lung irritation, these are some of the common effects conventional fragrance has on its consumers. To hurt its own customers? Well I think that’s unacceptable. 

 

In reaction to the hazard that fragrance had become, many cut fragrance from their lives entirely. But how sad to remove one of life’s sensory experiences from our existence because a few bad actors had tainted it? So I set out to bring the joy and indulgence of fragrance back, without the worry. 

 

Enter: Humble Abode fragrance. This product line retains the nuance and whimsy of fragrance without the chemical shortcuts. No more headaches, worrying that your perfume is affecting your fertility, and the overall sense that using fragrance always requires compromise.

Every Humble Abode fragrance is free from toxins, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, mutagens, formaldehyde-releasing agents, BHT, BHA, PEGs, diacetyl, synthetic musks, and triclosan. Essentially, this means no endocrine disruptors, respiratory irritants, nor reproductive toxins. Additionally, our ingredients are ethically sourced, cruelty free, and all handmade, by me. 

Loving fragrance again shouldn’t require compromise, we just needed to make it better. I hope you enjoy.
